John Slowensky
Director
Mr. John Slowensky's is in his sixth year as head Band Director for Rolla Public Schools. John Slowensky was raised in Steelville, Mo. He attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. where he earned his Bachelor of Science in music education in May of 1996. Prior to teaching in Rolla, Mr. Slowensky was the band director in the Richland and St. James Public Schools. Throughout his career he has performed, taught, and traveled all over the United States and most of Europe. Mr. Slowensky has studied conducting and his primary instrument is the trumpet. Mr. Slowensky has studied music with many accomplished names in music such as; Colnel John Bourgeois, Professor Keith House, Trumpeter Bob Ceccerreni and others.
Mr. Slowensky maintains professional membership in Music Educators National Conference (MENC), Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA), Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA), Phi Beta Mu, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Outside of band, he loves to hunt and be outside on the farm working with his cattle. Mr. Slowensky and wife Molly have one daughter Riley Lynn.
