Know Your Teacher

Welcome.  I am your middle school QUEST teacher.  Teaching has been my career for 28 years.  I have taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and remedial math at the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels.  Five years ago I added the gifted program to my list of teaching accomplishments.
I really enjoy teaching this class and hope that you will enjoy it as much
as I do.

Upcoming Themes

Smiley   5th Grade :  Students have finished New Atlantis.  They did
an awesome job on all projects.  We are going to
be doing some critical thinking skills, logic puzzles,
and some math for about a week.  Then we will
begin a new unit called Game Factory.

Smiley   6th Grade :   Students are on to their next unit of study.  It is
called Mummy's Message.  They will move about
on a game board that looks like the inside of a
pyramid.  Students will complete 3 projects while
earning hieroglyphic cards.  The final step is to
use their hieroglyphic cards to translate a message
completely before the team they are competing
against translates the same message.  In the end,
students should know a lot about Ancient Egyptian
                          History.

Smiley   7th Grade:  Students have started a new unit called Warlords
of Japan.  We are going back in time to the mid
1500's to Feudal Japan and the age of the Samurai.
There are 6 clans each living in a different castle.
Through activities, each clan will earn the right to
move about the map and take over provinces and
other castles in order to win the title of Shogun.
