The school year has just flown by. We have had a really good year, and your child has worked hard for me. We have covered alot of material and I am pleased with the progress of the class. Every student in class has met their AR goal for first and second quarter, and I believe we will all make 3rd quarter. If your child accumulates 10 AR points they get to enjoy pizza with their AR movie. Ask them how many points they have. Sometimes they wait until the last week, and then it is just too late to make that many points. We do try to read as much during the day as possible. Reading with your child is very important. My aide and I read with each individual student almost every day. They read a page, the we read a page, then we read the entire book to them, then they test. This has been very successful.
We are working on calculator work is math right now. We still have a few students who don't have calculators. If your child doesn't, please try to send in a calculator as soon as possible. The simpliest calculator will work. A more complicated one just confuses them.
Spelling words should always come home in their agenda on Monday morning. Work with them on their words - they get so excited when they can make a 100%
If you have any questions, please feel free to call and ask.
Thanks so much, Mrs. Neese

Preparing for MAP
MAP is fast approaching. We will begin testing right after spring break. We are reviewing much material in the classroom. Please make sure your child is in school every day they can be, and that they get to bed early with plenty of rest. I will be testing each student individually to try to get their best effort. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
