The counselor's services are for all children in the Rolla School District.  Our goals are to help children, parents, and teachers build on their strengths to insure the healthy mental development and happiness of the child.  It is important to remember that the counselor does not only see problems.  The concern of the counselor is in the prevention of obstacles that interfere with learning.

• Talks with children, parents, and teachers concerning student needs.
• Assists with the district testing programs and interprets the results to students, parents, and teachers.
• Assists in obtaining services outside the school.
• Visits classrooms conducting guidance activities to further enhance overall development of the child.  In this way she maintatins personal contact with each student.

• The counselor can invite you to visit.

Mrs. Julie Peterman:

• Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri - Columbia
• Eight years of teaching experience at the elementary and middle school levels.
• Master of Education in Elementary Guidance and Counseling from Lincoln University, Jefferson City
• Eighth year counseling at Wyman Elementary
• Married to Dennis Peterman, third grade teacher at Mark Twain Elementary, and we have one son, Zane.
